  1. Deborah Sakach says:

I can’t find any winter photos of scenery, snowed in towns, snowy walks on your site to use to write about visiting virginia in winter.

  2. I went to you website and called your phone number. Your phone system does not work the way you state. The system does not let you leave a message in the voice box and you can not reach a live person even during hours your website says the museum is open. I wanted to know if the Lantern-tours were all walking and if you have tickets for the lantern-tour can you come earlier that day to see the museum in the day light?
Also if someone has trouble walking would you recommend the lantern-tour to them?

    • Hi Eve,

Our apologies that you were unable to reach a Welcome Center staff person. There should always be someone available between 10am and 4pm and I will investigate why you not able to connect with anyone. Please try them again today at 540-332-7850.

The Lantern Tours do involve a significant amount of walking; also there are 2 horse drawn carriage rides that require the visitor to climb up into a wagon. That said, we can provide help to anyone requiring mobility assistance. Please let us know in advance so we can have the proper support vehicle and driver available.

Unfortunately, the Lantern Tours are a separate ticketed event and do not include general admission to the Museum during the day. We recommend purchasing an annual pass for unlimited general admission for a full year.

      Thanks!
