More About The Bands
August 4 – Parker & Gray
Parker & Gray are a music duo that stems from two diverse musical backgrounds intersecting at acoustic blues, folk, and soul. Based out of Staunton, Virginia, P&G are adding a new twist to the bare knuckle style of blues duos with the style and vigor of a full band, but in a package that fits any stage and many musical taste. (Daniel “Mojo” Parker – Vocals, Guitar, Percussion; Scott “Hambone” Gray – Harmonica & Guitar).
August 11- Troy Engle & Southern Skies
Troy Engle & Southern Skies, play original, traditional Bluegrass, with a modern flair. If you took Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs, Larry Sparks, and threw in a little Randy Travis for good measure, “Troy Engle and Southern Skies” is what that band might sound like! They bring honest, heartfelt music to fans of all ages!
August 18 – Gallatin Canyon
Despite the Montana namesake, Gallatin Canyon is a Charlottesville, Virginia-based bluegrass band. Influenced by dozens of artists, both contemporary and from the past, the band showcases masterful instrumentation, air-tight arrangements and soaring vocal harmonics. They perform not only traditional bluegrass music but also a wide variety of creatively-arranged favorites from the classic-rock and country genres. From Bill Monroe and Flatt & Scruggs, to the Beatles and the Avett Brothers, you’ll hear an eclectic and energetic mix crossing multiple musical genres.
Aug 26 – Amber Kalber & Branch House
In May of 2014, Amber (Collins) Kalber along with Floyd, VA area musicians Abe Goorskey (mandolin) and Scott Patrick (guitar), decided to put together a trio to be able to play a wider variety of music in a smaller band format. The result is an opportunity for folks to hear a lot more originals along with their favorite country, gospel, folk, Americana, bluegrass, and acoustic rock songs.
