COVID-19 Information

As part of the Commonwealth’s communication efforts, the Frontier Culture Museum will periodically post information from the Virginia Dept of Emergency Management. Our goal is to keep everyone informed regarding the containment strategies deployed by the Commonwealth to slow the spread of COVID-19, and to assist those struggling during these difficult times.

Governor’s Office / State Level Announcements

March 27 – Governor Northam Issues Statewide Stay at Home Order.

March 25 – Governor Northam Directs Postponement of Elective Surgeries. Order will preserve medical beds and personal protective equipment for COVID-19 response.

March 23 – Governor issues Executive Order 53 which requires the closure of certain non-essential businesses, bans all gatherings of more than 10 people, and closes all K-12 schools for the remainder of the academic year.

March 17 – Governor and Health Commissioner Issue Public Health Emergency Order to Enforce 10-Patron limit in restaurants, fitness centers, and theaters.

March 17 – Governor Northam Announces New Measures to Combat COVID-19 and Support Impacted Virginians

March 13 – K-12 School Closed for a minimum of 2 weeks

March 12 – Gov declares state of emergency
