| Objective: | Hypothesize different reasons why many Europeans left England, Germany and Ireland to come to the New World. |
Activity: In this activity, the students will be conducting research, creating short narratives of each country and creating maps of the designated area to reflect their research.
Procedure:
1. Have students use the library or internet to research on the climate, natural resources, crops, customs and traditions of the people of Great Britain and Germany from the mid 1600s-early 1800s time period.
2. Use the data gathered to create a short three paragraph narrative that describes each area. (Data worksheet)
3. Create a map based on the data and maps found during the research process.
Assessment: Have the students present their findings to the class. Grade the student's work on a set number of resources that you have predetermined.
