Learn about Halloween traditions from their roots in the Old World and later in early America. Each participant will make creepy crafts, prepare a small pumpkin pie (to bake at home), hear age-appropriate scary stories, and end the day with trick-or-treating at the Old World Exhibits.

Drop-Off Location: The Education Room and Lecture Hall are the drop-off & pick-up locations for the workshops; all activities will take place on the historic farm exhibits.
Participants should wear their Halloween costumes to the workshop. Participants will take home a creepy craft, a small pumpkin pie (to be baked at home), and trick-or-treat candy.
The 5-8 year olds’ Creepy Crafts Workshop:
- Start and end the workshop in the Education Room of the Dairy Barn 1.
- 1820s Farm – Make a small individual pumpkin pie to take home (unbaked) and also help make a large pie for the farm.
- Scary story (Age appropriate)
- Paint mini pumpkins
- Create a witches brew craft
- 4:00-5:00 pm: Trick-or-treating around the Old World Exhibits
The 9-12 year olds’ Creepy Crafts Workshop:
- Start and end the workshop in the Lecture Hall of Dairy Barn 1.
- Create a witches brew craft
- Painted mini pumpkins
- Scary story (Age appropriate)
- 1820s Farm – Make a small individual pumpkin pie to take home (unbaked) and also help make a large pie for the farm.
- 4:00-5:00 pm: Trick-or-treating around the Old World Exhibits.
