Memorial Weekend – 2021

Memorial Weekend Update!
The Museum will be celebrating Memorial Day all weekend long, Saturday though Monday (May 29-31). Come out and enjoy all of the activities including traditional music, foodways, baking, flax processing, wool dyeing, spinning, finger-weaving, blacksmithing, tailoring, and musket demonstrations.

Special Guests: The Hog Island Garrison will be conducting an early 17th century Militia Muster on Saturday and Sunday. We will also be joined by Members of the Maryland Light Dragoons who will be conducting War of 1812 cavalry demonstrations, and Malaciah Taylor of the Eastern Band Cherokee Nation on our Native American exhibit. Volunteers from around the east coast will assist in bringing to life the soldiers of the Virginia frontier during the American Revolution.
